Circuits gite to gite

L’escolan is a gite for stop-overs or longer stays. It has been awarded the Rando-Plume and Gite de France (three star) quality standards. Guzet-Neige ski resort is only 15 kms away.

The gite is a former school house dating back to 1906. It was converted by your hosts France and Yann in 1998. The first floor has been turned into comfortable en-suite double bedrooms and small dormitories. On the ground floor there is a big kitchen where we prepare meals served at friendly communal tables in the dining room beside a huge open fire. A games room is designed to let children and others relax and rewind.

The terrace and garden face south, with games for kids, volley ball and trampoline mean there are activities right here on site as well as leisurely meals in the open air on beautiful summer evenings. An unspoiled mountain stream rushing past the garden will make you want to take your time – indulge in idleness!

The evening meals are served at communal tables …aperitif, coffee, herbal teas, liqueurs are all available as extras. Breakfasts are taken in the communal room too. It’s completely up to you to rise with the lark or have a long lie. For mid-day, order a picnic the night before and it will be ready to take with you.

The bedrooms are all south-facing with wonderful views of the mountains from the large windows. With the original floors and gentle colours they combine the charm of yesteryear with the comfort you need: double or single beds, sheets and duvets provided, en-suite with shower, toilet and basin, central heating with thermostatically controlled radiators in all rooms. Outside the summer and winter school holidays, groups can rent the whole gite for a weekend or more. You can choose between having us provide your meals and self-service – in this case you have the freedom of the kitchen.
